Trojans win big at home 18 - 0 over the West Central Rebels

When everything clicks it is a beautiful thing. The Camrose Trojans executed a complete game Thursday night, one that had been illusive thus far in the season. The Defence was the story as they held West Central to minus 13 yards rushing and 99 yards passing. Defence forced a Safety early in the first quarter to start off the scoring. The leader on Defence was Terryl Sherman who had 6 tackles 1 assist, 1 Knockdown, 1 Forced Fumble, and 2 big hits. Quarterback Sacks were taken by Dylan Barton, Dorian Gibbs, and Jesse Doutre. The Defense was in the backfield all night and the Rebels Quarterback was pressured 7 times by Trey Gerhardt, Scott Gilroy, Carson Fontaine, Dorian Gibbs who each had 1 and Brett Beairsto got in the Quarterbacks face 3 times. Offensively the Line stepped up in a big way with 313 yards rushing and 2 for 4 passing for 51 yards. Anchored by veteran Trey Gerhardt he was joined by Josh Moores, Kevin Kittler, Evan Kohlman, and Jake Rutushnick, they opened up big holes for the Trojan run game. Nick Ioanidis had a big night with 171 yards rushing on 24 carries and a touchdown. Dorian Gibbs had 82 yards on 14 carries with a touchdown, and steadily improving rookie Dominick Charpentier contributed with 42 yards on 5 carries. Quarterback Drew Loosemore escaped pressure and found receiver Kieran Batke who went up an got a contested catch before turning it up-field for a 50 yard gain. Terryl Sherman went 1 for 2 on converts and added a Field Goal. Next up for the Trojans is a trip to Stettler to play the Wildcats. Game time is 7:30.
