FOOTBALL ALBERTA SUSPENDS ALL FOOTBALL ACTIVITY IN THE PROVINCE UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE

Due to concerns about the COVID-19 Pandemic at this time Football Alberta declares a suspension of practice or play of any football activity until further notice given the severity of this pandemic. All Members should be aware that Football Alberta’s insurance carrier has confirmed that any claims made during this time frame where activity is suspended would be declined. Therefore all activities should be paused.

Now, most of you do not take out our insurance as you have school plans. However, I would check with your school boards carrier to get their opinion on this matter. As always, you are guided by your school administration, school board, the ASAA and Alberta Education first and foremost, however please take our statement seriously. We would advise against any gathering of your team for meetings, off-season workouts, bottle drives, etc. until this situation has been resolved to the point where Alberta Health services and other public health agencies approves of gatherings.

We are hoping that with these efforts of mitigation we can return to play sooner than later but will keep you informed as we go. Thanks for your patience and understanding in this trying time.
