Trojans defeat the West Central Rebels 28 - 7 in Rocky Mountain House
On Tuesday October 16 the Trojans traveled to Rocky Mountain House to play the Rebels. The game was a make-up for the previous week where Rocky had to cancel. The Trojans needed a big team effort and that is what we got. The passing attack, led by quarterback Drew Loosemore, was on and Loosemore went 8-16 for 234 yards and 2 touchdowns, both to Aiden Brown. Brown was stellar for the Trojans with 3 catches for 167 yards and 2 touchdowns. Brown also picked off the Rocky quarterback twice and had a another pass knockdown. Denton Robertson, Drew forester, Ryan Pauls, Terryl Sherman and lineman Carson Fountain all caught passes in the Trojan win. Loosemore was nicked up on the last drive and Forseter left his receiver spot to complete a shovel pass to Sherman who scored the final touchdown. Sherman was busy on the night. In addition to the touchdown, he kicked 2 Field Goals and all three extra points as well as a rouge on a punt. Sherman also led the defence in tackles with 7. Jason Bennet had 5 tackles (3 of them QB sacks) and Ethan Matthews and Brock Dalke added 4 each.
With the win the Trojans set up a home playoff game against the Rebels again at Harry Andreassen Field. The game is tentatively scheduled for Friday October 26 at 7 pm.
Trojans Lose 43 - 0 to Stettler in a blizzard
The Trojans battled both the elements and the league leading Stettler Wildcats on Friday Oct 19. It was a miserable day for football and the Trojan offence couldn’t really get any traction in the game. Stettler capitalized on good field position and were able to keep the Trojans away from the score zone all night. The Trojan defence was stiff but short fields proved to be our downfall. Terryl Sherman returning from injury lead the Trojans with 7 tackles and Brock Dalke was next with 6. Aiden Brown playe dboth sides of the ball and contributed 4 tackles as well as rookie Jeff Kimball who added 4 tackles from his defensive end spot.
